Surf’s Up, Santas: 320 Surfing Santa Clauses Set World Record For Largest Surf Lesson

Before he goes down all those chimneys in one night, Santa Claus needs to unwind.

And what better way for Father Christmas to stay relaxed than surfing on a nicely beach in Australia?

A group of 320 Santas surfed their way into the Guinness World Records on Bondi Beach in Sydney on Tuesday by taking part in the biggest ever surf lesson.

They broke the previous record of 250 surfers & raised awareness of mental health issues.

Three organisations – retailer RedBalloon, surfing school Let’s Go Surfing & surfing charity OneWave – combined their resources to stage the event.

For the past three years, OneWave has been providing an opportunity for people suffering with anxiety & depression to obtain into the sea & surf.

Hundreds of Santas of all ages donned red & white Christmas gear rather than wetsuits & surfed into the record books, proving that surfing’s the source, man.

RedBalloon posted images of the successful record attempt on its Facebook & Twitter pages.
