New York woman admits role in abusing kidnapped Amish girls

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A woman accused of helping kidnap & sexually abusing two Amish girls in northern New York has pleaded guilty to 10 charges for making child pornography with them & other victims.

Nicole Vaisey & boyfriend Stephen Howells were charged last year by federal prosecutors with coercing & sexually exploiting the Amish girls & four other children.

Howells pleaded guilty last week to 21 charges.

p>Vaisey's sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 25.

The Amish girls, then 7 & 11, were abducted Aug. 13 from their family's roadside farm stand. They were released the next day.

Defense attorney Bradford Riendeau says Vaisey was moreover a victim of Howells.

He says she decided to plead guilty at a pretrial conference Thursday where the mother of one victim was in court.
